This weekend Porzuna took action against cancer. Fifty people, of all ages, participated with family or friends in the March against Cancer that took place yesterday Sunday in Porzuna. Dressed in green t-shirts, the participants walked the 4 kilometers that separate the municipality of Porzuna and the Hermitage of San Isidro from the town. There they had a snack consisting of water and fruit, before beginning the return to Porzuna, walking the way back. At the end, all attendees were able to enjoy a plate of migas made by Aurelio Jiménez, one of the City Council's municipal workers, in the Plaza Mayor. The mayor, Carlos Jesús Villajos, and the Councilor for Health, Ángel Luis Rojas, participated in this march together with the president of the Local Board of the Spanish Association Against Cancer in Porzuna, María Magdalena de la Cruz. Villajos highlighted the importance of this type of solidarity initiatives that "in addition to raising funds that are very necessary to promote research against cancer and help people who suffer from this disease and their families, they also serve to make us all aware of the importance of "influence prevention and leading healthy lifestyle habits.

Interpreted excursions, guided tours, workshops, concerts, exhibitions or initiatives such as Flavors of Don Quixote are some of the activities proposed to be carried out during the next two weeks. The activities will begin on May 25 with the inauguration of the exhibition 'Calatrava Volcanoes Geopark Project Photography Contest' that can be seen in Calzada de Calatrava from May .
